Welcome to our Website, we are Husband & Wife Makers located in the Great Lakes Mitten of Michigan! 

 

     At Tan That Hide we craft and saddle stitch all our leather products by hand.  Crafting by hand allows us to not only see but feel the grain, temper, fit and finish to the end of production, giving unique character to every item we sell. 

     

Our journey into Leather began as we crafted a dog collar and EDC wallet as personalized gifts. We quickly learned, from the response of family and friends, we had a hidden talent for crafting Leather.  Given our background, we ventured into Fire Service Leather Straps, Belts and Shields.  Feeding our creativity has increased our product line to include a variety of Tote Bags, Purses, Field Note Wallets, Journal Covers, Reporter's flip notebooks, Tiny Tot Tote for kids and various commissioned Leather goods. 

  

     We buy our USA sourced Hides direct from the Tannery here in the United States, this allows us to offer high quality handcrafted Leather items affordable to everyone.
